This past weekend has been overwhelming, and I can finally take a long break from touring and settle down to a slower and quieter life. Recharge. Reset.

While there is not a significant anniversary to celebrate, yet, I feel like I have reached a new milestone in my artistic and personal life, with this Atrium Concert Tour. I feel different, on so many levels. Mature, in full bloom, at ease, confident, and totally at home. And then, I suddenly realised I have kinda come full circle as I stood there on the stage at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It was 25 years ago that I first stood on this stage, which had seemed like an impossibility then. 

It is too easy to look at success as if it only happened today, all shiny and new, and effortless. The truth is so far from that. The road to any kind of “arrival” is never straight and smooth. It is paved with grit and stumbling blocks, heartaches, disappointments, and the sacrificial blood, sweat and tears. And that is all ok. That is to be expected.

What we cannot expect and can only hope for is the kindness, support, encouragement, and belief that others have held out for us. And I want to use this post to thank the people who have journeyed with me, fought with me, and stood by me. There are of course way too many, and I won’t be able to mention and to thank them all by name. But if ever our paths have crossed, and if I have indicated my gratitude and thankfulness, please trust that you have counted on my journey.

I have received so many glowing reviews and congratulatory messages from friends, industry colleagues, fans and strangers. Thank you for your appreciation of me and my amazing team who worked on this production. I believe I have thanked the current team many many times both publicly and privately. So, ladies and gentlemen, forgive me that you will not be mentioned here. 😬🤭💜

I want to thank the producers who have worked extensively with me in the different seasons of my career : the late Sunkist Ng, Billy Koh, Chiu Tsang Hei, Sydney Tan, and Ke Guimin.

The songwriters who have written my many classics: Liang Wern Fook, Dick Lee and Tom Pan.

The MDs and music arrangers who have worked with me on past concerts and albums to build the sound and style that define me today: Bang Wenfu, Goh Kheng Long and Sydney Tan.

The managers who have “managed” this obstinate and maverick of an artiste: Colin Goh, Wee Pei Pei, and 季声珊.

My trusted HMU/Styling team who ensures that I look good as I aged and morphed through the years: Andy Lee, David Gan, Jeremy Tan, Johnny Khoo, Zing, Ben Leong, Bowie Lo, Alvin Goh, Peter Khor and the late 陳聆薇.

All my current and ex-PAs and promo executives, who were literally comrades-in-arms, who battled alongside me doing my least favourite aspect of work, which is to promote my works! 😆😅💪

And of course, there would be no classics or concerts without the support of a loyal fan base, and an audience who appreciates what I do. ❤️❤️❤️ 

I guess the point I really want to make is that we all stand on the shoulders of giants, and we should not forget that. And in times of trouble or despair, this remembrance and gratitude will carry us forward. 🙏🙏🙏
