波伏娃在《第二性》中说“men like Benjamin Constant and Diderot, for instance, used to pour out floods of tears, and then men ceased weeping when it became unfashionable for them”。狄德罗时代男人哭是时髦，后来不时髦了，他们就不哭了。其实中国古代尤其唐代，男性文人哭也挺时髦的。
