Watching Portugal in Shanghai Cinemas

Este ano, no Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), os filmes portugueses em exibição focam-se nos relvados e nas ruas.
Maria Vitória esta tarde — a história de uma rapariga que, numa família desfeita, chuta o seu sonho para a frente, num filme delicado que já bateu à porta da competição principal do Festival de Tóquio.
A coletânea de curtas-metragens de João Salaviza, presidente do júri da competição de curtas-metragens do SIFF deste ano, estreia nesta quarta-feira, com sessão de encontro com o realizador. Cinco obras como prismas sobre vidas marginais: Arena(primeira Palma de Ouro portuguesa), Altas Cidades de Ossadas e Russa, ambas selecionadas para Berlim… Sob a lente, há resistência silenciosa e também fuga das almas.

《足球少女玛丽亚》今日下午首映——一个女孩在破碎家庭中踢出梦想，曾叩响东京电影节主竞赛之门。
João Salaviza作为本届上影节短片单元评委会主席，其执导的短片合集将于本周三首映，附见面会。五部作品如棱镜折射边缘人生：葡萄牙首座金棕榈得主《竞技场》、柏林入围《骸骨高城》《鲁萨》……镜头下，是无声的抗争，是困兽之斗，也是灵魂的逃亡。

This year, at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), the Portuguese films on display focus on lawns and streets.
Maria Vitória esta tarde— the story of a girl who, in a broken family, kicks her dream forward, in a poetic and delicate film that has already knocked on the door of the main competition of the Tokyo Film Festival.
The short film collection by João Salaviza, president of the jury for this year’s SIFF short film competition, premieres this Wednesday, with a meet-the-director session. Five works act as prisms on marginal lives: Arena(the first Portuguese Palme d'Or), High Cities of Bone and Russa(both selected for Berlin)… Through the lens, there is silent resistance and also the flight of souls.
