Thumbs-up Day
My Dream Campus Day
If I could create a special day on campus, I would choose Thumbs-up Day. On this day, every small kindness and progress receives a thumbs-up.
In the morning, each student will receive three thumbs-up stickers. Whenever they see someone helping others, answering a difficult question, or simply trying their best, they can give a thumbs-up. At noon, a “Thumbs-up Wall” will be put up in the hallway, where everyone can write down whom they appreciate and why. The one who receives the most thumbs-up will be awarded “Sunshine Student of the Day”.
The meaning of this day lies in recognizing positive energy. In exam-oriented education, we tend to focus only on scores and rankings, ignoring everyday efforts and virtues. Thumbs-up Day shifts our attention from competition to encouragement. It builds confidence in those who are easily overlooked and teaches us that appreciation is a skill worth practicing.
