The largest consumption in life is to satisfy oneself. The stronger one’s ego is, the more demands one generates and hence the higher price one pays. The endless cycle of rebirths is a continuous process of generating and satisfying demands. Only by reaching the status of no-self, can one terminate such meaningless consumption.
