答：“What's your family doing?”（用 is）更常用，是主流说法。family 是集合名词：美式英语几乎一律把 family 看作“一个家庭整体”，动词用单数。/ 英式英语通常也用单数；只有在特意强调“家里各成员分别在做不同的事”时，才可能用复数（are）。即便在英国单数仍非常普遍。两句对比 What's your family doing?​ 最自然、最常用（英美皆然)//In most situations, go with the singular form:"It's really cold. What's your family doing?"​ ← Natural, standard, most frequent.Use the plural form​ (What are your family doing?) only if: You're in a British context and want to emphasize different members doing different things, or You're deliberately highlighting that each person in the family is acting individually.
