When I first began to babble as a child, the very first word I learned was “Mama.” Back then, I did not know that these two simple syllables would become the warmest refuge of my entire life. It was never merely a title, but the very first beam of light I reached for after arriving in this world.
As a child, the world felt like a vast and blurry ocean. It was my mother who held my hand and patiently taught me how to know it, little by little. She taught me integrity, but never taught me to diminish myself. She taught me to understand others, while remaining true to my own heart. She taught me to empathize with the world, yet still stand firmly as myself. She taught me to rise again after falling, to notice flowers blooming, and also to see human nature clearly and distinguish kindness from cruelty. When I felt hurt, she would gently hold me close; when I felt afraid, she would quietly push me toward wider horizons.
When I was very young, she told me that if I did not like something, or if I was unwilling, I should bravely say “no.” She never treated obedience as the only virtue. Instead, she wanted me to stay faithful to my feelings and learn to recognize the true voice within myself. She taught me kindness, but also how to keep my edge. She taught me to understand others, while also allowing and encouraging me not to be shaped by the world at will. What she gave me was not merely manners or rules, but boundaries, dignity, and the courage to become myself.
As I grew older, I slowly realized that the things many people spend their entire lives searching for had already been placed into my life by her when I was still very young — freedom, resilience, and the strength not to be easily changed by the world.
When I was little, she sheltered me from storms. In my youth, she taught me courage and independence. As I grew up and journeyed farther away, I came to realize more and more that she had always been the source of my confidence and my way home. What she gave me was something even more precious — the ability to remain certain of who I am, to protect myself, and to become myself, even amid the noise and crowds of the world.
A mother’s love is like light. Not a blazing fire, but a quiet radiance that illuminates the long passage of years. It is more like a circle, with neither beginning nor end, silently flowing through every stage of my life — from the first words I ever spoke, to the first time I traveled far from home; from innocence and unknowing, to slowly growing into my own thoughts, choices, and direction. Through the long years of life, she has always remained the enduring and gentle light within me.
In this vast and boundless universe, she is the only person who has truly shared a heartbeat with me. And the greatest blessing of my life is to have been loved in this way.
Mother’s Day, 2026❤️❤️🌷🌷
