"Over the past few days, I have witnessed the Chinese Guzheng on the global stage reflect the shared emotions and hopes we hold as human beings. We may speak different languages and have different skin colors, and Eastern and Western aesthetics may spring from entirely different rivers. Yet, our understanding of love, of nostalgia, and of life’s regrets is deeply interconnected. When we dive deep enough beneath the surface, we find the exact same sorrows and joys flowing in the depths. Music is the ultimate, wordless care; it seeks wholeness within imperfection, and builds connection through the act of listening.
No matter how magnificent the melody, the vibration of the strings will eventually fall silent. But in the blank space of the lingering echoes, life's observation and awareness of itself has only just begun...
This is the most profound gift that this 2,500-year-old ancient instrument can offer the world in this noisy era.
