“近朱者赤，近墨者黑”的另一种译本（直译）：He who stays near vermilion gets stained red, and those who stays near ink gets stained black—one takes on the colour of one's company.

近朱者赤，近墨者黑。鸟隨鸾凤飞腾远，人伴贤良品自高。Those who are close to good people become virtuous; those who are close to bad people become corrupt（意译）. Just as birds soar high with the guidance of phoenixes, people will rise to great heights when they are accompanied by virtuous individuals.
