“I’m eating dinner at my apartment when my phone rings. It’s Miranda. Typically I wouldn’t expect a call from her these days. We’ve drifted apart. It’s a sad reality for me in my late twenties. At the beginning of the decade, the people I was close to seemed like friends for life, people I could never imagine not seeing every day. But life happens. Love happens. Loss happens. Change and growth happen at different paces for different people, and sometimes the paces just don’t line up. It’s devastating if I think too much about it, so I usually don’t.“

Who knows how shocked I was when i saw she said they drifted apart… I mean she shared EVERYTHING with miranda at this point - her eating disorder, her father not being her biological father, her abusive mother, her traumatic childhood as a somewhat famous child actor - but they still drifted apart.

And u know what’s funny, I also happen to be at the beginning of the decade that she’s talking about, and even tho I don’t have ppl “I could never imagine not seeing every day” anymore, I do have ppl who I would love for them to become my lifelong friends. But what’s devastating and heartbreaking is that I am also at the age where i can totally resonate with what she said about “life happens. Love happens. Loss happens. Change and growth happen at different paces for different people, and sometimes the paces just don’t line up.” This already happened in my life.

I’m not ready but I guess this is life.
