The genuine wanderer doesn't travel to extract value from places. We travel to be changed by them. There's no portfolio at the end. Just a person who has slept in mud and eaten with strangers and stood at the edge of things that made them feel appropriately small.

But bottom of the social hierarchy is also where the actual human world lives. In the mud, in the markets, in the ordinary extraordinary texture of how people actually survive and love and make meaning.
