The first part of this album tells a story about a step towards reclamation and adventure routed in self discovery.

It can be so hard to look in the mirror and actually see what is reflected back at you. It takes courage to face yourself and address who you truly are. In the world today it’s so easy to be distracted or anchor your identity in someone else.

You stare at photographs of the Idols you admire on your wall and you ask them for an answer. But later you realise that you never met the people in the photographs.

The conversations you had with these pictures were internal so every answer, every epiphany, every little revelation all came from within you.

I wanted to make a train of thought that unfolds in every line - a journey that forces you to face yourself leading you to the top of some strange fucking mountain inside your head.

But what goes up must come down. Gravity wins - it’s inevitable and there will always be another mountain.

Idols II is about the fundamental comprehension of mortality.

Are you running away from something in this life or are you running towards something? For me, it depends on the day.

Life is truly a gift and not to be taken for granted.

I’ve wasted so many days inside my own head tripping out about situations that aren’t even real.

Feeling the air on your face, hearing the sound of another’s voice, having a conversation with a stranger and actually hearing their point of view before presenting yours - that’s real. We can waste so much time in our heads we forget to live.

I have a lot more questions in this life than I do answers but I feel like this album has helped me find the courage to ask them.
