At the Engineering Department of the Lower Sesan 2 Hydropower Station in Cambodia, our new colleague Moul Athecheth proudly wears his crisp new badge, eyes sparkling with excitement for this cross-border opportunity. As dusk falls and lights begin to glow in the distant resettlement villages, what moves him goes beyond the thrill of a new job. He reflects deeply: “I realize I’m protecting not only the dam, but also the happiness of my hometown.” In the new year, he hopes to become one of the highly skilled professionals certified by the Chinese side, embarking on a new journey and building a shared future alongside his Chinese mentors.
