As the Year of the Horse gallops into 2026, I'm thrilled to announce my latest exhibition, Zodiac Legacy: The Horse Reigns, debuting at the luxurious Mu Mian Chengdu 5-Star Hotel. Overlooking the iconic Zaha Hadid Architects Plaza at the MixC Luxury Shopping Center, this immersive showcase celebrates the power, grace, and cultural depth of the Chinese Zodiac through vibrant contemporary art.
Exhibition Highlights
Dates & Times: Running from February 17 to 24, 2026 – perfectly timed with the start of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
Open daily from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Live Painting Sessions: Join me (Matt Vegh), Michael Vegh, and the talented Yi Nan for intimate roundtable live painting demonstrations each day from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
These sessions offer a rare, up-close glimpse into our creative process, engaging guests and visitors in a cozy, interactive setting.
Featured Artists: Showcasing works by Matt Vegh, Yi Nan, Michael Vegh, and Fang Yi Ning, blending modern interpretations with ancient inspirations.
We're also proud to feature three exclusive paintings incorporating the Jinsha Golden Sunbird motif, used with permission from the world-class Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum. This emblematic image isn't just a symbol of Chengdu; it's a cornerstone of China's national intangible cultural heritage, representing renewal, vitality, and the city's ancient traditions.
Honoring Chengdu's Ancient Wonders
Our works draw inspiration from two of Sichuan's most revered archaeological sites: the Jinsha Museum and the Sanxingdui Museum. The Jinsha site's Golden Sunbird, evokes the mystical Ancient Shu Kingdom's legacy, while the Sanxingdui Museum houses enigmatic bronze artifacts that continue to captivate the world.
