AI时代，关于是不是要在研究里用AI有各种热议，各方也意见不一。我自己目前的立场是，在研究里不用AI，但尽量用AI提高各种日常admin的工作效率，有更多的时间来自己做研究。

这个立场，并不是因为不会用AI做研究。一方面是正因为自己的研究的一部分关注的是AI和社会不平等，所以深知AI从底层设计上的缺陷和bias（和reflexive sociology的原则相悖）。另一个大方面是因为研究的每个步骤、包括写作时可能会遇到的挣扎、以及（自己或和合作者）对文字的来回推敲和雕琢，我都很享受，并不想让AI可能带来的“效率”替代了自己在研究、写作过程里能得到的乐趣。

这让我想到了著名社会学家Richard Sennett在The Craftsman一书里的核心论点：The spirit of craftsmanship involves the desire to do a job well for its own sake。书里也写到：People motivated purely by material rewards or competition do not tend to produce as good work as those motivated by a sense of craftsmanship... being able to participate in craftsmanship – as opposed to mere labour, or even to cerebral activity – is good for well-being。[不愧是你]
