🌷3. A Section-by-Section Explanatory Introduction This kind of introduction is especially helpful/useful when introducing a large project. You can give visitors a very brief account of the place they are going to visit so that they can have a rough idea of the place before visiting the place in person. For example, prior to taking visitors to the Palace Museum (also known to the West as the Forbidden City), you can tell them in advance the time and dynasty when it was built, the area it covers, the layout of the museum, the key halls, the use of the palace and the important cultural articles in the palace. After that, you may more easily take visitors to the palace and let them see for themselves the palace and then follow this with a detailed visit and vivid explanation whenever you see a valuable real object in their field of vision. In addition, you can add some anecdotes of the emperor and empress to make your introduction reach a climax. This incorporates the art of the storyteller. For instance, the emperor's life was very luxurious, as revealed by the example of 128 courses for a single meal. This gave rise to the saying: “One meal for the emperor would cost half a year's grain for the people.” At this time, you can seize the chance to give vent to your feelings. You can tell them that happy as the emperor's life was, he was not fortunate enough to have any chance to enjoy such things as the modern public conveniences (Rest Room). When he wanted to use the lavatory, he had to use a wooden public convenience (toilet). When he was out of the palace, he had to use a leather cloth in a tent surrounded by six people. Again, the emperor had to take a bath with an embroidered handkerchief in a wooden basin. It is said that hundreds of handkerchiefs were needed for one bath.
