2. A Trip to the Forest Park​
Last Sunday, my family and I went to the Forest Park. It was a sunny day— the sky was blue, and the birds were singing in the trees. My dad drove the car, and my mom brought a big picnic basket. My little sister, Lucy, took her favorite teddy bear.​
When we arrived at the park, we saw many tall trees. Some trees had green leaves, and some had yellow leaves because it was autumn. There was a small lake in the middle of the park. We saw some ducks swimming on the lake—they quacked loudly and looked for food. Lucy wanted to feed them, so my mom gave her some bread. The ducks swam to us quickly and ate the bread happily.​
After that, we walked to a grassy area and had a picnic. We ate sandwiches, fruits, and cookies. My dad told us funny stories while we ate. After lunch, my sister and I flew a kite. The kite was red and white, and it flew high in the sky. I ran with the kite, and Lucy cheered for me.​
When the sun went down, we packed our things and went home. I felt a little tired, but I was very happy. The trip to the Forest Park was so wonderful. I hope we can go there again next month!​
