《三句无奈之语，道尽美籍华人的隐忧！》

中秋佳节之际，我特意给在纽约生活了 53 年的弟弟打了个电话，关切地问道：“你过得还好吗？”

弟弟 6 岁那年，便随我们一家移民至美国。后来，他与高中同学喜结连理，而这位同学是第三代华裔美籍人士，家中几乎不说中文。我们的父亲离世已有 32 年，生前未能有机会教弟弟中文。如今弟弟虽已年届六旬，可中文水平却差强人意，连自己的中文名字都写得都很吃力。

我询问他近况如何，他回复的三句话，让我对美籍华人的处境深感忧虑！

他说：“最近局势一片混乱。人们都担心美国移民和海关执法局（I.C.E.）的工作人员可能因为你的肤色，会带者枪和口罩，破门而入，检查你是不是非法移民！”

“在唐纳德·特朗普执政下的美国，正逐渐沦为一个法西斯的国度！”

“如今时代大不相同了！”

我建议他或许可以回到亚洲生活，他却无奈地表示：“我们早已深深扎根于此，难以改变现有的生活了。”

听了他的话，我内心满是悲戚。的确，时代已经今非昔比。但是只要有机会，我依然希望劝说他回归中国，共享这太平盛世！

《Three Sentences Full of Desperation Reveal the Hidden Worries of Chinese Americans!》

On the occasion of the Mid - Autumn Festival, I made a special phone call to my younger brother who has been living in New York for 53 years and asked with concern, "How are you doing these days?"

My brother was six years old when he immigrated to the United States with our family. Later, he tied the knot with his high - school classmate, who was a third - generation Chinese American. There was almost no Chinese spoken in their home. My father passed away 32 years ago and didn't have the opportunity to teach my brother Chinese. Now, although my brother is in his sixties, his Chinese proficiency is far from satisfactory. He even finds it difficult to write his own Chinese name.

When I inquired about his recent situation, his three - sentence reply filled me with deep concern about the plight of Chinese Americans.

He said, "The situation is in total chaos these days. People are on edge due to their skin color, fearing that the agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) might wear masks, carrying guns and break into your home to check if you are an illegal immigrant!"

"Under Donald Trump's administration, the United States is gradually turning into a Fascist State!"

"It is a different time now!"

I suggested that he might consider returning to live in Asia. However, he replied with a sense of helplessness, "We've already too entrenched to change our current way of life."

After hearing his words, my heart was filled with sadness. Indeed, times has changed . However, whenever there's a chance, I still hope to persuade him to return to China and partake in this era of peace and prosperity!
