Ultimately, both perspectives represent the ten Dharma realms and the boundless myriad phenomena. This is the equal mind of the Great Dharma of Yuandun!
So to become a Buddha, to become a Buddha means that we should serve all sentient beings! This is the true heart of attaining Buddhahood! This is called repaying the Buddha's kindness.
Both kinds of contemplation are about our hearts, aren't they? To make a vow is to repay the kindness of the Buddha! Therefore, when it comes to rounding a person, it is about the mind rather than the matter. He didn't say "put this body and mind into all deeds", did he? Did he say "All trades are trades"? Understand this!
Therefore, the Shurangama Sutra still discusses "cultivating the mind" later on, but it does not talk about "practicing". But I want to tell everyone that those who haven't said they cultivate their minds don't practice. Do you all understand? Don't misuse your heart! After you have cultivated your mind, all your actions are called "cultivating your mind". If the heart is not cultivated well, all actions - as the Buddha described in the Avatamsaka Sutra - are "demonic karma".
所以《楞严经》后面还要讲「修心」,它没有讲「修行」。但我告诉大家,没有说修心的人就不修行,大家明白吗?你不要错用了心!修了心以后你一切的行都叫「修心」。心没有修好,一切的行—佛在《华严经》讲是「魔业」;
