Horner’s syndrome is a neurological condition caused by disruption of the sympathetic nerves supplying the face and eye. It is not a disease itself, but rather a clinical sign of an underlying problem.
Classic Triad of Symptoms
1. Ptosis – drooping of the upper eyelid due to paralysis of Müller’s muscle.
2. Miosis – constricted pupil, as the sympathetic pathway for pupil dilation is impaired.
3. Anhidrosis – loss of sweating on the affected side of the face (though this may be minimal or absent in some cases).
