13 Death/Sid Vicious

“Cause I, wanna be, anarchy”
这张牌也考虑了非常久。我一度想过要么画基斯理查（从1973开始就荣登最可能死掉的滚人榜单，五十年后大家才发现他是真的不打算死。把身边所有人包括说他马上就死的医生都熬死了，所以有“末日之后只有两种生物还活着，蟑螂和基斯理查”这种说法）），要么画Buddy Holly（音乐死的那一天.jpg），但是基斯理查毕竟还没死，Buddy Holly的死也只体现在结果上不体现在人设上，或者说他不是死神，只是死了。这两位选择都没有死神所象征的结束，转变和新的开始。最后选了Sid，不止是因为他的毁灭倾向和暴力的死法，更是因为七十年代初的朋克运动本身是对所谓华而不实，资产阶级的摇滚（好吧本塔罗至少一半都是这种乐队）的一种再发明。于是性手枪，和他们虽不是主唱却最具代表性的Sid，成为了死神牌。
I spent a lot of time deciding who this card was going to be, initial choices were between Buddy Holly(“The day the music died”) and Keith Richards(it is said that after a nuclear apocalypse, the only life on earth would be cockroaches and Keith Richards, because they both cannot die), but neither of these possess the imagery of transformation and major changes Death is supposed to express. I eventually decided on Sid, not just because of his destructive behaviour and violent death, but also due to the punk movement’s determination of rebelling against “fancy rock”, which most musicians on this tarot happens to symbolize. The punk movement was a revolutionary reinvention of rock as a music form, taking rock from the hands of middle and upper class creators and back into the hands of the people once again. Thus, Sex Pistols, and its most iconic member, Sid, marks a period to this era, making him a fitting choice as the Death card.
