This year marks a triple milestone: the 130th anniversary of world cinema, the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema and the 15th anniversary of BJIFF itself. From the Lumière brothers' first screening in Paris in 1895 to the debut of China's first film Dingjun Mountain in 1905, the magic of cinema has transcended time and borders. As the birthplace of Chinese cinema, Beijing carries the torch of film tradition – through BJIFF, the cinematic wave continues to surge with passion in this vibrant city.
