我出生于龙年，我一直是像甄子丹和成龙这样的中国武术电影明星的超级粉丝。已经数不清我看过多少遍《卧虎藏龙》，每次都被周润发和杨紫琼演绎的那些在坚忍和爱情之间挣扎的人们的痛苦深深打动。从很多方面来说，这与我在文化激荡中成长的经历有相似之处。也许正是出于这些原因，做出不是一次、而是两次演绎这套节目的决定非常简单，并最终取得了巨大成功。我永远也无法达到原作的境界（见图3），但这并不妨碍我一直追求它带给我的美感和理念。我很荣幸能有机会通过表演和体育来实现这一目标，并与大家分享这一深具特殊意义的创作性的努力。

Absolutely thrilled to have my Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon free skate costume on display at the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships with my designer Feeling-Mathieu Caron here in Boston. This program means everything to me, and I’d love to share why.

I was born in the Year of the Dragon, and I’ve always been a huge fan of Chinese martial arts film stars like Donnie Yen and Jackie Chan. I’ve watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon more times than I can count, and each time I am profoundly struck by the way Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh portray the torment of those caught between stoicism and love. In many ways, this draws a parallel to the cultural turbulence I grew up in the crosswinds of. Perhaps these reasons altogether are why the choice to perform to the score not once, but twice, was so easy to make — and ended up so successful. I will never come close to doing the original masterpiece justice (see slide 3), but that won’t stop me from forever seeking to grasp the beauty and ethos it offered me. I’m honored to have had the chance to do so through performance and sport, and to have shared this deeply special creative endeavor with each of you.
