《#女巫阿加莎#》服装设计师Daniel Selon解读Agatha第9集服装。

Let’s talk about Agatha’s pocket and women traveling with all the necessary items for life.

Pockets have a fascinating fashion history that is inextricably tied to the subjugation of women. In the 18th century, most women’s pockets were a separate flat bag that was tied around their waist, usually hidden inside their skirts. We wanted to create something special for Agatha’s costume that carried some story details of her journey and we decided to expose it because she’s always been a rule breaker. Enter Kathryn’s costumer @ Maeganrobinson, a magical foraging witch in her own right. Maegan took care of Kathryn when we did Wandavision and I was so happy she was available to join us on the Witchesʼ Road. I can’t imagine this project or the character of Agatha without Maegan. She was the sherpa, the midwife, the nurse, the healer, the craftswoman and the athlete (because set-costuming is an endurance sport). Maegan was always present with every single thing Kathryn/Agatha might need for every frame in this epic journey. So. Many. Costumes! And because of Maegan, through many miles and tricks and trials, she was always wearing the correct one.

As if her caretaking contribution wasn’t enough Maegan offered to hand embroider Agatha’s pocket, which she did between takes on set. That is commitment! She and I talked about the elements and symbols we wanted to feature and then Maegan came back to me with this gorgeous design. Kathryn liked that we kept her initials AH for Agatha Harkness.

This pocket represents the collaboration of strong and talented women who took care of each other on a long journey.
