2015年春節期間，疑似電視台高層對於我台藉身份與口音問題有意見，因此“被下崗”，與此同時，家中也遭遇重大變故．．．。經過一段時間的沈潛與調整，我的恩師張恩煌，向當時 #武林風# 節目的總導演吳立新說明情況。出乎意料的是，吳導演十分爽快地給我機會，讓我能夠在這個中國最夯的搏擊節目重拾解說員的工作。
《武林风》自2004年起在河南卫视播出，是中國最具歷史和影響力的武術搏擊節目，無數人夢寐以求能在這裡嶄露頭角。因此，能夠中獲得重新登台的機會，哪怕只是跑跑龍套，對我來說也是一件值得欣喜的事。
不過，《武林风》對解說員的要求與昆侖決截然不同。在昆侖決，要求要保留台灣口，這樣才算高大尚，有“國際范兒”；但作為國家級的搏擊門面，《武林风》對普通話的要求極高，需要字正腔圓的表達方式。為了滿足這一要求，我必須克服口音問題。此外，如何與河南卫视其他資深評論員默契搭配，也讓節目高層頗費心思。
經過一番考察，領導們認為我在解說內容的廣度與深度上具有獨特優勢，因此安排了一位能與我“配合”的搭檔。除了與原有的評論員同台，導演也曾親自下場與我搭檔解說，之後還邀請搏擊明星－方便與我搭配。我也受命參加了河南卫视旗下另一檔MMA節目《武林籠中對》的解說工作，通過不斷輪值，磨練自己的解說功力。
這些年來，我奔走於各大賽場，解說無數來自全球的頂尖搏擊選手。每一場比賽前中後，都有大大小小各種不同的意外或困難要克服。經過無數次的比賽洗禮，我磨練出臨危不亂的功力。可是，我最終卻敗給了疫情，中斷三年後，滄海桑田、人事已非，我至今仍未能重返《武林风》。
正如那句話所言，“不在乎天長地久，只在乎曾經擁有”；能夠與這些來自世界各地的偉大武術家以及中國內地最優秀的製作團隊共事，我心懷感恩。
我對於老天將為我安排的下一段旅程，我充滿了好奇與期待．．．。

Daily Reflection: September 20, 2024
During the Spring Festival of 2015, I was "let go" from my position, possibly due to concerns from the TV executives about my Taiwanese identity and accent. At the same time, my family was going through a major upheaval. After some time of reflection and adjustment, my mentor, Zhang Enhong, explained my situation to Wu Lixin, the then-executive director of Wu Lin Feng. To my surprise, Director Wu was very willing to give me another chance, allowing me to resume my role as a commentator on China’s most popular combat sports program.
Since its launch on Henan Satellite TV in 2004, Wu Lin Feng has become the most historic and influential martial arts and combat sports show in China. Many dream of having the opportunity to shine on this platform, so the chance to return to such a prestigious stage—even if it meant playing a minor role—was something I was immensely grateful for.
However, the expectations for commentators on Wu Lin Feng were quite different from those on Kunlun Fight. On Kunlun Fight, I was expected to retain my Taiwanese accent, which was seen as stylish and gave the program a “global flair.” In contrast, as a national-level combat sports program, Wu Lin Feng required commentators to speak with perfect Mandarin pronunciation and diction. To meet these standards, I had to work on overcoming my accent. Additionally, finding a way to smoothly collaborate with Henan TV’s experienced commentators proved to be a challenge for the program's leadership.
After some consideration, the directors recognized the unique breadth and depth of my commentary. They decided to pair me with someone who could "complement" my style. Beyond working alongside the existing commentators, the director himself even partnered with me at one point. Later, the combat sports star Fang Bian was invited to be my co-commentator. I was also tasked with working on another MMA program under Henan Satellite TV, Wu Lin Cage Match, which allowed me to further hone my commentary skills through regular rotations.
Over the years, I traveled across numerous arenas, commenting on countless matches featuring top fighters from around the world. Each fight came with its own set of surprises and challenges, and I gradually developed a steady composure in the face of any adversity. However, in the end, I was defeated by the pandemic. After three years of separation, everything had changed. To this day, I have not yet returned to Wu Lin Feng.
As the saying goes, "It’s not about how long it lasts, but about having had it at all." I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside these remarkable martial artists from around the world and with China’s top-notch production teams.
Now, I look ahead with curiosity and anticipation, wondering what the future has in store for me on my next journey.
