To celebrate the milestone, it's also the "China-Russia Year of Culture." Many cultural exchanges and events have been organized by the two countries, including the play "War and Peace" staged by the Vakhtangov Theater. This version of "War and Peace" was directed by master dramatist Rimas Tuminas for the 100th anniversary of the theater's founding. The play has won several awards in Russia.
