As well as ‘Only Love’, this song was written with Vicky Farewell and was born at Wake the Wild’s LA studio. We were all familiar with Vicky’s own sound so when so when she started playing these beautiful chords on her DX7, I programmed a classic 808 beat a la Sexual Healing (which you can hear on our demo, slide 2). This all made sense, in a retro kind of way… but not for long: the retro vibes quickly retired once we took it to Paris… Tom really killed it with the top line, I think this is one of our best songs, full stop. And finally a big shout out to Dan’s keyboard patch on the intro, I’m still not sure what it is…
