The 2nd track of our new album is ‘Call It’, our collab with Eddie Chacon. What a day that was: we met Eddie, went for tacos, and then spent the afternoon at LA’s own Stones Throw Studios. As soon as my laptop was plugged in, Eddie started humming the chorus, and as Tom joined in, Lly and I put a quick beat together using our usual Rhodes plugin and a loop from my old ‘Cold Fire’ drums. In this kind of situation you need to be really quick and we just were: for some reason everything just worked out. We found the right key, tempo, the equipment worked and everyone was in the right mood. 99% of that song was written in that afternoon. Pure magic! Check out our demo on the next slide
