Witnessed the whole process of KPOP the musical being on Broadway from their first week of preview to an abrupt closing. COVID, shortage of understudies and crew members, stereotypical reviews and bad notices...They’ve been trying really hard to simply stay in this western-dominated market and have made such progress since Day 1. “It showcased Asians being authentically and proudly Asian. It broke ground in so many ways.”

This is tragic news, for KPOP the musical, for Asians and Asian culture trying to be seen, and also for Broadway itself.
