昨天那条微博让我想起另一个人。大家知道，在明清之际（确切地说，明万历至清乾隆年间），有许多耶鱼禾会士不远万里来到中国传道，一定程度上加强了东西方文化的交流。

其中几乎是最后一批来华的耶鱼禾会士中，有一位名叫 Jean Joseph Marie Amiot的法国人，中文名 钱德明（1718-1793）。他是一位才华横溢、学识丰富的学者。来到中国后，他迅速地学习了中国传统典籍，并逐步编纂了15卷本的《中国历史、科学与艺术回忆录》（Mémoires concernant l'histoire, les sciences et les arts des Chinois），从各方面记录中国文化，让西方能够系统了解中国。其中包括了他撰写的《孔子传》、满文辞典。他还翻译了《孙子兵法》，甚至将一些乾隆的御制诗翻译成法文。

他还是一名音乐专家，在音乐方面，他撰写了“De la Musique moderne des Chinois”《中国现代音乐考》，大概是历史上第一部关于中国音乐史的书，可惜最终未能编辑出版。1779年，他还向法国寄去了一份名为“Divertissements chinois”（中国宫廷嬉游曲）的音乐稿件，含有41首中国传统乐曲，包括细十番、花阴月静、群音芳聚等音乐谱中的曲子，采用中国传统记谱法（工尺）与西方五线谱混合记谱的方式记录。

1777年耶鱼禾会解散，基du教在中国的传教事业陷入低谷，钱德明选择留在北京，继续在宫廷服务。一直到1793年10月，他获知法王路易十六被杀消息，悲伤过度中风去世，享年75岁。
