这本Flipped（《怦然心动》）是几年前做读书会领大家读的。这本书的故事比较简单，作者是位老师，她想通过这个故事告诉读者们不要只看外表，要see beneath the surface。书名flipped有“反转”的意思，也有“变得开心”，书中也是用了“男孩说”“女孩说”两种视角讲故事，即flip the book over to read the other person’s point of view.

书的语言比较简单，很多处读起来让人觉得秒回青春，比如开篇第一页写到：She didn’t just barge into my life. She barged and shoved and wedged her way into my life.

有一些生词可能会造成一些阅读障碍，我建议先标记即可，回头再查，比如像fettuccine这样的词不需要特意记的。另外有些细节值得注意比如这段：

That girl is a royal pain. She’s a show-off, she’s know-it-all, and she is pushy beyond belief!（前面还说她是the world’s peskiest, bossiest, most know-it-all female，后面还出现了A royal cluck-faced jerk.）

这里的royal就不是「皇家的」意思，而是表示强调。当你说某个人是a royal pain就是说他特别招人烦。
